Worship

Worship is the center of our communal life.

And yet, worship means many different things to people. For some, worship is the one oasis of comfort in an overly-demanding world.  For others, worship is a time of engagement with the transcendent God — a brief glimpse into the sacred made visible. Others, still, want to be challenged by Jesus’ words and to carry that message into their week and out into the world.

It would seem an almost impossible task to craft a worship service that met all these differing demands. That is, if we didn’t agree that, as the center of our communal life, worship is about connection.

That is why we worship. To be connected with God. With ourselves. With each other. And with the world outside our doors.

Worship is not the only part of our spiritual lives; but it is a necessary part.
