Outreach and Service

FCCN supports the following organizations. We volunteer our time, donate goods, raise awareness and/or offer meeting space.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series System.

Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.

Generic Ministry

Generic Ministry is a group of volunteers that collects and distributes food, clothing, and supplies to the homeless and needy in Boston. We are a not-for-profit organization that recognizes that many people in our community need help and we do what we can to help them.

Donations can be made at the church.

New Life Furniture Bank of MA

New Life Furniture Bank is a Medfield, MA not-for-profit organization with a warehouse in Walpole, MA serving the surrounding communities. As a furniture bank, we collect gently used furniture, that is then made available to individuals and families in need. We are members of the National Furniture Bank Association of North America (www.fbana.org)

Clients come to us through referrals from social service and government agencies, as well as area clergy. We expect to serve people overcoming difficult circumstances such as victims of fires or floods, those who have been homeless, veterans of war and recent refugees. Our goal is to treat our clients with dignity, provide them basic necessities from our inventory and, hopefully, ease their burden in life.

NewLife relies on the generosity of residents like you. We accept most basic furniture and household items, although they must be in relatively good condition. We aim to provide an easy option for those who are downsizing or redecorating to “recycle,” knowing their donations will be put to good use and kept out of landfills. NewLife is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit.  All donations to our organizations are tax deductible.

FCCN organizes trips to the warehouse in Walpole bimonthly. To sign up click here.

Dignity Matters

Dignity Matters is a non-profit organization that collects, purchases and supplies menstrual products, bras and underwear to women and girls who are homeless or disadvantaged, in order to help them stay healthy, regain self-confidence, and live with basic dignity.

People commonly associate period poverty with developing countries, but it is a significant, hidden and local issue here in US, and, in Massachusetts.

There are women in almost every community in the nation, who cannot afford these necessities, and period protection items are not covered by SNAP benefits.

Clients we assist are commonly single mothers, low-income or homeless women or women and teens who escaped domestic violence and cannot safely return home. Well over 40% of homeless women we encountered in shelters are employed. We also serve monthly thousands of immigrants, refugees and members of LGBT community. People we work with desperately need help to stand back on their feet.

People we serve, every month face the humiliating reality of no access to period protection. Their dilemma of having to choose between buying food to survive or menstrual care is too common.

Donations can be made at the church.

Cradles to crayons

When children lack basic essential items—a pair of shoes that fit, appropriate clothing, school supplies, and books—they miss out on having the same opportunities as their peers. And these are just some of the items a child living in poverty desperately needs. Through our year-round Everyday Essentials program, Cradles to Crayons is working to mitigate this need.

By donating to support Everyday Essentials, you can help us provide clothing, shoes, coats, diapers, hygiene items, school supplies, and more, to children in need. Help us lighten the load for a caregiver who is struggling and make a real difference today!

Donations can be made at the church.
