Capital Campaign: The First Congregational Church in Norwood has been housed in 5 buildings since first gathered in 1736. Our current building is in need of a new heating system. Our goal is to raise $200,000.00 in 18 months to fund this large undertaking. If you would like to donate to our capital campaign you can do so by going to our “donate” page.

A message
from our Pastor:

Welcome to the First Congregational Church in Norwood website.  We hope this online platform will help you to see the gifts of this loving faith community and will give you the tools to visit, learn more about the church, or pray with us.

We are an Open and Affirming congregation affiliated with The United Church of Christ.  This means that our church is 2000 years old, but our thinking is not.  We welcome all people seeking God’s love and Christ’s compassion “regardless of physical or mental ability, race, age, culture, family status, sexual orientation or gender identity” (from our Open and Affirming Statement).

The First Congregational Church in Norwood first gathered in 1736 in what was then South Dedham.  Since that time, we have worshipped, prayed, worked for justice, contributed to the needs of the community, and been a church that strives to live out the love of God (which we understand to be unconditional and immeasurable).

We believe that all are on a journey of faith and that all are welcome no matter where they are in their journey.  We are grateful that we are an intergenerational, progressive Christian Community and hope to be a vital church in Norwood for at least another 280 years.

Please take time to explore the website.  We look forward to welcoming you some time soon.

- Pastor Michele
